Lone Wolf, Los Angeles

Hostel Indentity

The objective of the project was to create an identity for a hostel in Los Angles, California. This includes a self guided tour app, a website, a journal cover, Instagram posts, and a tote bag.

The concept for Lone Wolf was created for this hostel, which specifically targets solo travelers. A Lone wolf is a self-sufficient animal who is constantly on the move, hunting to stay alive. Many, who are addicted to exploring new cultures and places, are also willing to do anything to find the best local spots. The branding is meant to break the rules of the modern millennial traveler. This hostel was Inspired by the beat movement, where tons of young people were interested in rebellion and traveling across the United States. The concept enforces spontaneity and encourages the hostel guests to get lost every once in a while.

The app was designed as a tool for travelers to enjoy a solo tour of L.A.’s top local attractions. The user is able to track their tours and gain points each time they take a detour to another tour. This app encourages many to get lost and be spontaneous. The journal cover enforces the idea of real life experiences as souvenirs, which many solo travelers would value.
The mixed and scattered type and bold color palette are used to emphasize spontaneous styles of travel and enforce the brand’s authenticity. A vintage style was carried through each deliverable with warm photo filters. Ladder’s are used frequently through fun and bold illustrations.
